"This company is amazing! Dave himself came out to provide an estimate. He was kind and patient with me as I was moving slow due to a recent surgery. He listened to me explain what I wanted done with my yard and was able to offer great suggestions. "

Site Work preparing the location
Site Work refers to the things that must be done to prepare a location for the installation of walls, walkways, patios, driveways, steps, plantings, and/or lawns.
The most important reason for site work is to address issues regarding the existing grade and drainage needs. This could include installing a drainage system, catch basins, or altering the grade to cause surface water to run-off in a desired direction. In the instance of clearing woods to extend landscape areas, the site work would also include removing stumps, and any time ledge must be jack-hammered out prior to a landscape project would also fall under this category.
In essence, site work creates the foundation on which to build the new landscape.

Hardscape walls, walks, patios, and stone
What is hardscaping?
Hardscaping is the installation of any hard material like brick, fieldstone, boulders, and blocks into the landscape. Typically, the hard materials are used for patios, walkways, driveways, decorative walls, and retaining walls. Other hardscape applications include placing boulders around your yard to enhance the landscape and building outdoor kitchens.
Concrete pavers, clay bricks, bluestone, flagstone, travertine, limestone, granite, slate, and fieldstone are common types of materials that are used in hardscape projects—and—there are many more hardscape materials.
Our staff here at Dave’s Landscape Management has extensive experience & training in installing pavers & walls of all types.
Base preparation is the foundation of any lasting project.
For example, when installing a patio, unsuitable material like soil and stones must be removed, proper base material must be installed, then properly compacted and leveled before the first brick, block, or stone paver is laid. Once the pavers are installed, they need to be cut, reinforced with an edge restraint, and swept in with a polymer sand to lock them in tightly. Sealing them with a sealing product will give them a nice sheen and help protect them from weather and wear. When constructed properly, hardscapes last for years and years, and the team at Dave’s Landscape Management knows how to construct hardscapes properly.
Decorative and retaining walls are constructed with stone or interlocking block.
The same careful base preparation as above must be done for walls as for patios. Additionally, special attention must be paid to proper drainage. Water behind a wall is the # 1 cause of failure – so it is critical to get the drainage right the first time. Geogrid is placed behind walls to strengthen & help prevent them from falling over. If your decorative or retaining wall is over 4′ tall, you’ll need a plan stamped by an engineer.
Whatever hardscape project you have in mind, Dave’s Landscape can deliver.

"I just had two rock walls installed, and a walkway which came out awesome. They also put in four steps into a hill in my yard, they then put down loom, grass seed, lime and fertilizer, and finished it off with hemlock mulch. The cobblestones they installed as a border around the front of the house look beautiful. Thank You Juan and Joseph for a job well done. I will certainly use them again what a wonderful experience, very professional. "

Softscape trees, shrubs, perennials, and mulch
Planting trees, shrubs, and flowers is a great way to add beauty and serenity to your yard.
Dave or a senior member of his team, will walk your property and evaluate the essential ingredients for successful plantings: soil conditions, lighting, and drainage. We offer expert advice regarding which types of flowers, trees, shrubs, and other plantings will work best in your yard. A detailed drawing may be created outlining proposed plantings. Quality plant material is then purchased from selected nurseries, and installed by Dave’s crew according to the design.
Large or small scale, high or low maintenance–no matter what your landscape needs are, Dave’s Landscape can offer a solution to fit your yard and budget.
We maintain close relationships with all of our suppliers so quality is guaranteed. If, for any reason, a plant installed by Dave’s Landscape does not survive its first growing season, it will be replaced free of charge.

Turf / Lawns sod or various types of seed
A beautiful and healthy lawn not only complements the architecture of a house but provides a backdrop for flowering plants and trees.
Proper lawn installation begins with a thorough assessment of existing site conditions.Soil is analyzed for nutrient content and any insect and disease problems. Grading and drainage issues are addressed. Existing weeds are eliminated before installation.
Only high quality screened loam is used as a base for premium grass seed mixed according to the demands of the site – shade vs. sun, high traffic vs. low. Whether staring from scratch with a new lawn installation or rennovating an existing lawn damaged by drought, insects, or diseases, Dave’s can create an “emerald garland” around your home.
